Age

In 1966, this survey team suggested that the Tianqiao Formation was a set of acid lava and tuff rocks located above the Helong Group belonging to Middle and Upper Jurassic. In 1977, Wu Shuibo et al. believed that the Tianqiaoling Formation was above the Malugou Formation, which belonged to Late Triassic. According to the plant fossils, Sun Ge suggested that the age of this formation belonged to the Middle and Late Triassic in 1979~1993.
