Tianqiaoling Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at the upstream of Tuopangou River in Tianqiaoling Village, Wangqing Country, Qilin. It was named by the Area Survey Team of Jilin Geological Bureau.
Synonym: The metamorphic acid volcanic rocks distributed in the area of Tianqiao Ling and Caopigou in Wangqing County was named as Tianqiao Ling group by the geotechnical survey team of Jilin Geological Bureau in 1960, which was dated as Permian.
Lithology and Thickness
This formation, 852 m thick, is mainly composed of grayish-yellow, grayish-white rhyolite intercalated with a small amount of acid tuff.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Tianqiaoling Fm is disconformable in contact to underlying Malugou Fm with a bed of breccia tuff.
Upper contact
It is faulted in contact to overlying Helong Gr
Regional extent
The formation is mainly distributed at upstream of Tuopangou River in Tianqiaoling Basin and northern Malugou of Jilin.
